Director of Infinite Futures

As Director of Infinite Futures: Foresight Research and Training, Dr. Schultz has over twenty-five years of foresight practice all around the world. She recently completed a strategic change management project with Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals; a scenario project focused on England’s natural environment to 2060; and worked with the UK Foresight Programme’s Land Use Futures Project on foresight methods. Wendy has also provided emerging issues analyses and scenario explorations for the UK Health and Safety Executive, the UK Environment Agency, the Food Ethics Council, UK’s Local Government Association, the UK National Policing Improvement Agency, and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Her current work includes scenario building with a Fortune 500 food-and-beverage company; an EU project on foresight methods for higher education planning (Romania); and creating an innovative crowd-sourced approach to evolving scenarios, working in partnership with Cognitive Edge (UK) and MIT (USA).

Her conference keynotes, workshops, and publications include topics as varied as innovations and the future of art; future competitiveness for urban regions; the future of transport; the future of learning and higher education; and the role of women in designing our emerging technological futures, among others. Her writing covers not only foresight methods for public policy, but also everything from the future of space habitation to the future of philanthropy.

Dr. Schultz earned both her M.A. and Ph.D. in Alternative Futures at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. A Principal of SAMI Consulting (UK), she is also Director of Training for Vision Foresight Strategy, and collaborates with The Futures Company, Lasa Development, and AndSpace Consulting. She is a Fellow of the World Futures Studies Federation; a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce; and a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.
